Tex-Isle Supply Inc. of Houston, announced the official groundbreaking of the company’s most recent and substantial investment, Tex-Isle Coating (TIC). The new 40,000 square foot plant is situated on Tex-Isle’s existing 40 acre pipe storage facility in the heart of the Eagle Ford Shale near George West, Texas and is being developed by Harvey Builders of Houston. The George West location with its 40 acres of pipe storage will be ideal for providing logistics services to Tex-Isle’s customers, including pipeline stringing operations and pipe stocking and distribution programs in the Eagle Ford Shale and beyond.
Tex-Isle Coating will provide the United States oil & gas industry with the latest in pipe coating technology and process procedures in the 2 - 24 inch diameter range. The plant will offer fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) anti-corrosion coatings, abrasion resistance over coatings, high temperature resistant over coatings for line pipe, and Zap-Wrap coating for pipe with Zap-Lok end connections. The facility will house new coating application equipment from industry recognized manufacturers, CRC-Evans, Ajax Tocco Magnethermic, and ITW Gema. President Curtis Kayem notes that “This project further demonstrates Tex-Isle’s commitment to providing premium service to our growing customer base. With economies in coating, freight, and lead times we are particularly well suited to service customer needs throughout the U.S. now, and for years to come.” Tex-Isle Coating along with the existing storage facility will generate new tax revenues for the county (Live Oak) and state and will create over 30 new jobs in 2011 alone.
