Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Controller. Senior Accountant should be experienced in all aspects of financial management, corporate accounting, financial reporting as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Attention to detail is imperative, as the position requires timely and accurate financial reporting in a fast-paced environment. This role has the potential to move into an Accounting Supervisor role.


• Assist Controller with management of all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P
• Assist with Financial Statement Preparation
• Power BI and Power Pivot Reporting
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance as needed
• Update Manufacturing Plant Rate annually
• Analyze Capital Budgeting Requests
• Support month and year-end close process
• Coordinate Audit Reviews
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Upload Positive Pay file
• Set up wires
• Oversee and review Reconciliations monthly
• Handle banking problems (i.e., Positive Pay exceptions)
• Help sales team with receivers/coating problems
• Coordinate Physical Inventory/Cycle Counts
• Work with IT for TDS/Great Plains/inventory tracking streamlining
• Additional projects as necessary

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, CPA preferred
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in an accounting role
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
• Experience with financial statement preparation for all types of legal entities
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Candidate must possess strong problem solving skills, accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
• Candidate must have a general knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts and financial procedures
• Candidate must thrive in a team environment
• Candidate must have strong initiative (self-starter)
• Candidate must have a strong attention to detail
• Candidate must have discretion; works with confidential data, which if disclosed, might have significant internal effect or minor external effect
• Computer proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel required. Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) is preferable, but not required if systems knowledge is comparable
• Some overtime and travel required (20%)
